New Rules

1. Competitors must wear name tags at all times, strictly no entry to forge floor without tag

2. Competitors will enter the forge 20 minutes before their round at the invitation of a steward and must stay behind the railing at the back of the forges. Name tags must be shown to gain entry, tools may be set up behind the forges in preparation for their round

3. The new competitor will only enter their forge area once the forge has been vacated.

4. Current competitors will finish on the bell (strictly no over time). They will leave the shoe on the anvil and the stewards will put the shoe in a bucket to be taken away. The competitor must not touch the shoe in any way! The competitor must clear their tools and vacate the forge immediately after the round has finished to make room for the next competitor.

5. Current competitors on the floor only (no passing of tools or equipment) the competitor or striker must leave the floor to collect any tools or equipment.

6. Any questions for the judge should be asked before the round starts (call a steward for the judges attention). Leave the judge alone at the end of the round (clear your forge area).

7. (Saturday only) One stud hole will be drilled in the outside heel of each hind shoe by a steward. The competitor must allow the time for this, it is the competitors responsibility to ensure the shoe is still level after the stud hole has been drilled and tapped.

8. Shoes can only be removed once the round has started, a team member may cut steel for a competitor but the competitor must go to collect it from the guillotine area. (No throwing steel across the forge).

9. The judges decision will be final in the event of lameness.
Over trimmed, you will be asked to stop
Over burning, you will be asked to stop
Nail holes in a dangerous position, you will not be allowed to nail the shoe on to the foot.
