Welfare Advice Reconciliation Service

A confidential free service for Apprentices

info box:
A support service provided to all farriery member apprentices. FREE

From January 2004, one of the benefits of being an apprentice farrier is the provision of a free employment helpline, The Welfare Advice Reconciliation Service.

As an experienced and independent provider of Human Resources and Employment Law advice, the support we offer the apprentice farriers is initially on the telephone, but if required we can write letters on your behalf, converse with your employers, mediate, negotiate and if all else fails, assist the NAFBAE member at Tribunal.

This telephone helpline is available, free of charge, to all apprentices to provide advice on any employment issues including:

  • contracts
  • changes to working practices
  • working time regulations
  • health and safety issues
  • bullying and harassment
  • breach of apprenticeship agreement
  • unjustified warnings to apprentices
  • lack of training/tuition during apprenticeship
  • negotiating grievances with employers

As well as the helpline, the Welfare Advice Reconciliation Service will also be running a series of informative articles in The Forge, covering aspects of employment such as new legislation; what is needed in an employment contract; what to do in an appraisal; how to deal with an aggressive employer; the Working Time Regulations.

All members of the Welfare Advice Reconciliation Service have interests in the countryside and various pursuits, including involvement in the local hunt. Consequently we feel we have a knowledge and understanding of the issues which face all aspects of country living in this day and age.

If you need advice or guidance on any employment issues, you can contact the Welfare Advice Reconciliation Service on 01822 870270 between 8.30 a.m. and 7.00 p.m.

Or you can email nicky@hrsupportconsultancy.co.uk

Or you can write to
